Steps to find the antilog

Since antilog is the inverse of log, finding the antilog is finding inversely the log. To make it clear, see the example below. Please read the rule here and prepare the table of logarithms to see the related mantissa number before.

  1. The antilog(2.48144) will be written down as follows:
    The mantissa is 48144, which is joining cell of the N=30 and column 3 (=303). The characteristics is 2, add 1 to find the digits (=3). Thus, the antilog(2.48144) is 303.
  2. The antilog(1.48144) will be written down as follows:
    The mantissa is 48144, which is joining cell of the N=30 and column 3 (=303). The characteristics is 1, add 1 to find the digits (=2). Thus, the antilog(1.48144) is 30.3.
  3. The antilog(0.48144) will be written down as follows:
    The mantissa is 48144, which join cell of the N=30 and column 3 (=303). The characteristics is 0, add 1 to find the digits (=1). Thus, the antilog(0.48144) is 3.03.
  4. The antilog(-0.51856) will be written down as follows:
    Add the result by 10 to get 9.48144. The 9.48144 consist of 9 as the characteristic and 48144 as the mantissa. Subtract 10 from 9 and we get -1. Remove the minus sign of the -1 to get 1, and subtract it by 1, we get 0 –> this is the count of the number of zeroes between the decimal point and the first significant digit.
    The mantissa 48144 is joining cell of the N=30 and column 3 (=303). Thus the antilog (-0.51856) is 0.303.
  5. The antilog(-1.51856) will be written down as follows:
    Add the result by 10 to get 8.48144. The 8.48144 consist of 8 as the characteristic and 48144 as the mantissa. Subtract 10 from 8 and we get -2. Remove the minus sign of the -2 to get 2, and subtract it by 1, we get 1 – this is the count of the number of zeroes between the decimal point and the first significant digit.
    The mantissa 48144 is joining cell of the N=30 and column 3 (=303). Thus the antilog (-0.51856) is 0.0303.
